The Canungra Record Challenge (CRC) brings both competition and record flying together. Set your own tasks, fly the days you like and lift your flying standard whilst competing against your fellow pilots.

Scoring will be open for two & a half months to allow for the best weather opportunities and will be open to all pilots, HG & PG, with inland experience. The CRC gives the entrants an opportunity to achieve flights that satisfy on a personal level without the confines of predetermined tasks and launch times. Held at an optimum time of year, the dates have been chosen to reflect the previous site record of 496km by John Durand Jr on 18/3/05.

Dates: The Challenge will be open for GPS scoring from 2nd Feb and conclude 29th Apr 2008. Briefing and updates will be done via email, downloads via gps or email.

Cost : A one-off $40 scoring fee applies to all entrants wanting to be scored.

Courses and Tasks: Seven different records will be scored and pilots can enter their best flight tracks for. Pre determined tasks will be provided with the option of setting your own tasks.

Awards: The Canungra Nugget Best Over All Trophy will be awarded. The trophy features a 1/2 oz gold nugget coin. Valued at $500 aud.

Entry will be confirmed via return email subject "Canungra Record Challenge entry form" at raefon72@msn.com with payment of fees on signup. First day sausage sizzle at 8.00 am park next to Canungra Hotel at Canungra. Sign ups on the hill accepted through out the challenge. FAI observers will be available if required.

The 2007 trophy goes to Warren Simonsen, followed by Trevor Purcell and Brandon O'Donnell in third place (as the only paraglider pilot in the field).
